By its Decision no. 880/2025, the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC), in plenary sitting, unanimously approved, pursuant to Article 8 (3) of Law 3959/2011, the proposed concentration concerning the acquisition of sole control by the company under the name “HELLENIQ ENERGY HOLDINGS S.A.” over the company under the name “ELPEDISON B.V.”, which is currently (i.e. before the implementation of the transaction) jointly controlled by “HELLENIQ ENERGY HOLDINGS S.A.” and “Edison International Shareholdings S.P.A.”.
The HCC approved the above concentration, which concerns the energy sector and other markets, such as the markets for the electricity generation and supply at wholesale level, electricity trading and electricity supply at retail level, wholesale & retail supply of natural gas, RES and High-Efficiency Heat-Electricity Cogeneration producers (HCHP) (RES and HCHP Aggregators) and refining and trading of petroleum products at every stage of the value chain, as, although falling within the scope of Article 6 (1) of the Greek Competition Act, it does not raise serious concerns as to its compatibility with competition rules in the individual markets concerned.
