Anna Gatziou is a lawyer and since joining the Hellenic Competition Commission in 2011, she has worked at the Directorate General for Competition. In 2020, she was appointed Head of the Legal Department of the Directorate for Energy and Transport. She has extensive experience in antitrust and merger enforcement, having handled cartel, abuse of dominance, and merger cases across a broad range of sectors. She has also participated in working groups of the European Competition Network (ECN) and the OECD.

Before joining the Hellenic Competition Commission, she practised competition law at leading law firms in Athens.

She holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from the Faculty of Law of Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Institute for European Studies, and a DESS in European Economic Law from Sciences Po Paris.

She speaks English and French.
