Hara Nikolopoulou is a lawyer and has served as Vice President of the Hellenic Competition Commission since 2022. She joined the Commission in 2011 and, over the years, held various senior positions, including Director, Head of Unit in the Directorate of Legal Service and Head of International Relations.

Before joining the Hellenic Competition Commission, she worked as a competition lawyer at the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission, as a competition lawyer at major law firms in Athens and Brussels, and as a trainee at the European  Commission on state aid. 

Hara has more than 20 years of experience in the enforcement of competition law, having handled multiple cartel, abuse of dominance, and merger control cases across a wide range of industries. In 2025, she was appointed member of the Competition Bureau of the OECD and was reappointed in 2026. She is a founding member of the women@competition network in Greece and a member of the Academy of European Law. She has taught at the National School of the Judiciary and speaks regularly on matters of competition law and policy in conferences and institutional fora, such as the International Competition Network και the UNCTAD Intergovernmental group of experts on Competition Law and Policy. 

She graduated from the Law School of the University of Athens in 2000 and has been a member of the Athens Bar Association since 2002. She holds an LL.M. in Corporate and Commercial Law from University College London and a Master of Science in Economics (Economic Regulation and Competition) from the Department of Economics at City University London.

She is fluent in Greek, English and French and has a basic knowledge of German.
