By its unanimous Decision No. 915/2026, adopted on June 9th, 2026, the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC), in Chamber sitting, approved the concentration concerning the acquisition of sole control by the company “ORPHEE BEINOGLOU - STREEM GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN SOLUTIONS S.A.” (distinctive title “OB STREEM S.A.), a subsidiary of the H.I.G. Capital LLC investment group, over the company “MED FRIGO G. POULIAS - S. BRAKATSELOS S.A.” (distinctive title MED FRIGO S.A.”), in accordance with national law on merger control (Law 3959/2011).
The above concentration concerns the relevant markets in which there are horizontal overlaps between the parties’ activities, in particular the logistics and freight forwarding service markets, with the latter being further divided into the submarkets for ambient-temperature freight forwarding and temperature-controlled freight forwarding.
Considering the small market shares of the parties to the transaction, the HCC concluded that, although the transaction falls within the scope of Article 6 (1) of Law 3959/2011, it does not alter the competitive conditions prevailing on the market. Therefore, the transaction under review does not raise serious concerns as to its compatibility with the requirements of effective competition in the relevant markets concerned.
