Subject: HCC’s participation in the CompEUte project

In December 2025 and January 2026, the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC) held a series of training seminars for judicial officials as part of the "CompEUte – Multidisciplinary judicial training for the digital single market" EU funded project.

The CompEUte initiative aims at equipping judicial officials with the necessary skills to tackle anti-competitive behaviors and affect the smooth functioning of the digital single market in the European Union.

The project is implemented by the Centre for European Constitutional Law (CECL) - Themistocles and Dimitris Tsatsos Foundation with the support of the National School of Judiciary (ESDI) and the HCC.

The three sessions of training seminars were held at the premises of the HCC and the ESDI, with graded subject-matters according to the level of the participants’ familiarity and were aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of judicial officials in European competition law enforcement in the fast-moving digital markets. The training focused on linking theoretical knowledge with examples from case law of the General Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union, national courts as well as from the practice of the European Commission and the Hellenic Competition Commission.

On behalf of the HCC, its President, Irene Sharpe, gave a presentation on the management of complex competition cases,  the Head of the HCC’s Chief Legal Unit, Nadia Skandali, gave presentations on public competition law enforcement, abuse of a dominant position and merger control, the Head of the Legal Department, Eftichia Karkani, gave presentations on the application of competition provisions in digital markets and the HCC’s Vice-President, Hara Nikolopoulou, gave a presentation on the new objectives of competition law.
