On 18 December 2025, the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC) in Section, adopted Decision No. 897/2025, by which it unanimously approved, pursuant to Article 8(3) of Law 3959/2011, the concentration concerning the acquisition of sole control by GEK TERNA S.A. over the business activity of the “Egnatia Odos” motorway, consisting in its financing, operation, maintenance and exploitation.
The concentration concerns the markets for the grant of toll motorway concessions, the management of the transport infrastructure and the market for relevant ancillary services.
The HCC decided that the concentration, although falling within the scope of paragraph 1 of Article 6 of Law 3959/2011, does not raise serious concerns regarding its compatibility with competition rules in the relevant markets concerned.
