By its Decision No. 884/2025, adopted on the 17th of July 2025, the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC), in Chamber sitting, unanimously approved, pursuant to Article 8 (3) of Law 3959/2011, the concentration concerning the acquisition by the company under the name “LEADER FOOD INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL S.A.” (LEADER S.A.) of sole control over “HELLENIC FARMS S.A.”, within the meaning of Article 5 (2-b) of Law 3959/2011.
Through this transaction, which concerns the wider market for cheese products and the relevant individual markets as well as the markets for butter and herbal beverages, in the Greek territory, LEADER acquires sole control over HELLENIC FARMS S.A.
The HCC, taking into account the low market shares of the parties to the transaction, approved the above concentration considering that, although it falls within the scope of Articles 6 (1) of Law 3959/29011, the competitive conditions in the relevant markets concerned are not affected. Therefore, the proposed concentration does not raise serious concerns as to its compatibility with competition rules in the markets where the merging entities are active.
