Ex officio investigation of the Competition Commission in the detergents’ sector
In the context of the Competition Commission’s ex officio investigation in the household detergents’ sector, a second Report of the Directorate General for Competition has been finalized, concerning the agreements prohibiting parallel imports concluded between the industry and retailers.
The Competition Commission will meet on 12 February 2009 to examine the Report of the Directorate General for Competition concerning a contractual clause prohibiting parallel concluded between COLGATE PALMOLIVE HELLAS S.A., COLGATE PALMOLIVE EMPORIKI S.A. (Sole Proprietorship with Limited Liability) and four super market chains during 2001 - 2007.
It should be noted in this respect that the Report of the Directorate General for Competition is not binding on the Commission, which shall decide after having previously taken cognizance of and evaluated the views of the parties involved.
